How powerful is a dare? 

How far would you go if given a dare? 

How influential on human behavior is the dare effect? 

 

This website itself began in the form of a dare.  I was challenged by a co-worker to create a website that would place my beliefs and questions out to the public, and get enough attention and support to quit my job and be self-sustaining.  I took on the dare and originally created the Belief Sciences, LLC and its corresponding website.:

 

 

 

That website was my first attempt at trying to get people to back an idea that I had, but it must be ahead of its time.  :-)  I do think that with a large amount of faith nearly anything is possible and I hope one day to have enough traffic and believers to continue with the experiments we had envisioned.  It has been shutdown and redirected here.

 

In the meantime, I got to thinking about another hot topic right now which is government and in coming up with a better government than the existing republics out there.  The website Republic Reborn was created to bring together all opinions to come up with an effective republic that has minimum personal life impact . 

 

 

 

I started that website and its corresponding forums, but then came to the same conclusion as my original website.  There was probably not gonna be enough interest and traffic to make that website self-sustaining either for the amount of effort it would require. 

 

Both of these websites I am willing to pick back up and continue with their important efforts should the traffic and you, our visitors, desire. 

 

This website came to me after I gave thought to the original dare I was given.  I have put a large amount of effort and start-up money into what was essentially just a dare.  How many other people have gone to such efforts for such a nebulously defined idea as the dare?  I figure a simple website that required some small personal sacrifice would be a good way to quantify such information. 

 

In addition, here is where you'll find a forum to tell the tall tales, and whoppers of some of the dares that you have accepted or challenged other's with.  So drop by the forum, sit a spell, and enjoy some of the shenanigans of your fellow man.

8/1/2008 - D&D Files Moved Here and Belief Sciences website redirected to here.  If the traffic here causes this website to pick up, then this idea will be expanded.  Otherwise I just need a server to keep my Power Cards file available to the public.

 

11/17/2008 - New Dare taken, make Solitaire in Excel.  New page added.
